Embracing Your Matrescence: Mothers Circle + Movement
4 Sessions Bi-Weekly on Wednesdays @ 6:30-8pm
Series 1: January 28, February 11 & 25, March 11
Series 2: March 18, April 1, 15 & 29
Venue: Private Studio, East Milton Square, Milton MA
Since becoming a mother, have you ever asked yourself…
Why is mothering today so damn hard, overwhelming, or even unsustainable?
Why do I keep feeling like this is a me problem?
Where are my people - the “village” everyone says we need?
If any of that sounds familiar, you’re not alone…AND you’re in the right place!
This four-session Mothers Circle is a supportive space for moms to gather, drop our masks, and hold space for one another.
Together we’ll explore the scholarly concept and lived experience of Matrescence - the profound transition of becoming a mother and the journey beyond. We’ll talk about:
The myth of “Normative Motherhood” and why it leaves us feeling like we’re never enough
The societal and cultural pressures shaping how we mother today
The politics of motherhood and the invisibility of carework
How to re-frame care for ourselves, our families, and our communities
Each session includes about 60ish mins of guided discussion + 30ish mins of restorative yoga or mindful movement, helping you regulate your nervous system through connection and calm.
Come as you are and join this welcoming mother-centered community that blends conversation, reflection, and collective care.
